Maitland Showground Markets
The Maitland Showground is owned and operated by the Hunter River Agricultural & Horticultural Association Limited (HRA&HA). Expressions of interest are invited from suitably qualified and experienced individuals or businesses to provide regular markets at Maitland Showground. The Maitland Markets have been successfully run at the Maitland Showground for over 30 years.
You will be responsible for all aspects of operating the Markets and will need to organise and manage a range of market stalls including fresh produce, food, handmade products and general market items. You will engage and manage stallholders to maximise the potential of this business opportunity. You will be responsible marketing, cleaning, safety and security.
Currently, the Maitland Markets are held on Sundays from 8am to 2pm on the first Sunday in February to September and the first and third Sundays in October, November and December. The opportunity exists to expand the Markets.
The HRA&HA will negotiate a licence agreement with you for an initial 4 year period with a 4 year option. Ideally, you would commence on 1 October 2020, though a later date may be negotiated.
Your expression of interest should include your background and experience in managing markets, details of your business and management structure, insurance options, types of stallholder to be engaged, marketing strategy, safety plan including COVID requirements, waste management and cleaning plan and any other relevant information.

Late submissions will not be accepted. The choice of operator for the markets by the HRA&HA will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
