CARAVAN & CAMPING UPDATE
Camping has re-opened at Maitland Showground with very limited sites available, due to recent adverse weather conditions in the area.
Please note:
Limited campsites will be available this weekend, Saturday 14 June & Sunday 15 June 2025, due to a scheduled event on the grounds.
We appreciate your patience and understanding, and we look forward to welcoming you back as more sites become available after this event from mid-June.
Important Information:

When camping is available, please contact our office Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 2:00pm, on (02) 4933 5052 for all camping enquiries.

If arriving after office hours, please contact our Caretaker on 0429 940 065 to check availability (calls accepted until 6:00pm daily for same-day check-ins).

Campsites are available at $25 per site, per night.

The Maitland Showground is owned and operated by the Hunter River Agricultural & Horticultural Association, a not-for-profit community organisation.
Maintenance to amenities and grounds is conducted during the working week and is funded by camping fees, donations and grants.
Maitland Showground offers spacious, grassed and powered sites for camping, subject to availability at all times.
As we do not take bookings, we recommend contacting the Maitland Showground Office on (02) 4933 5052 or via email at office@maitlandshowground.com.au to check availability prior to your arrival.
The Office is open from 9am to 2pm, Monday – Friday. Please note that the Office is closed on Public Holidays. For all enquiries outside of Office hours, please call our Caretaker on 0429 940 065 between the hours of 9am to 6pm only. No entry will be permitted before 6am or after 6pm.
Please enter Maitland Showground via the main gate located on the corner of Blomfield and Anzac Street, Maitland NSW. We recommend that you use Anzac Street for GPS navigation purposes. The Office is located on the first right turn when entering and is signposted.
Gates are open from 6am to 6pm daily. Once registered, you will be provided with an access code to the amenities (showers and toilets) and the all-hours access gate located on Evans Street.
We are pet friendly, however, pets must be registered, microchipped, and restrained AT ALL TIMES. Dogs are unable to be left outside unattended. Please clean up after your dog.
Camping is limited to a maximum stay of 21 days in a 28 day period for caravans, motor homes and hard floor camper trailers. A maximum stay of 4 days is available for soft floor camper trailers and tents. We do not have permanent sites or cabins available. All caravans/motorhomes/mobile homes/vans and cars must be registered. Unregistered vehicles will be denied entry to the Showground.
During Market days camping is restricted to the first three rows on the left at the entrance of the Showground. During major events, like the Maitland Annual Show, no camping is available.

Terms and Conditions of Camping
The following terms and conditions apply to your registration to stay at the Maitland Showground.
By signing below, you agree to adhere to these terms and conditions. Campers must adhere to the following:
- Camping is limited to a maximum of 21 nights every 28 nights. Stay for 3 weeks leave for 1 week before returning.
- All guests must ensure their sites fees are paid before setting up when you arrive at the Showground.
- All campers and visitors MUST comply with instructions from Showground Staff.
- All caravans/motorhomes/mobile homes/vans and cars must be registered. Unregistered vehicles will be denied entry to the Showground.
- Sites fees per night inclusive of power, water and use of amenities.
- HRA & HA is not responsible for loss of valuables and personal belongings while staying at our Showground.
- The Camping Codes are strictly for guests only. Amenities/After Hours Gate codes must not be shared externally. This may result your registration being cancelled.
- Adhere to the 8km per hour speed limit.
- Payment is required at the time of booking in for the period you will be staying.
- Extensions can be arranged by visiting or by calling the office to make payment over the phone for extra nights before your check-out date.
- Ensure that children are always supervised by an adult.
- If we have events on during your stay, some areas will be closed for camping. From time to time our entire showground will be closed for events.
- The excessive consumption of alcohol and use of illegal drugs are not permitted on the grounds. This will result in termination of your stay. Antisocial or offensive behaviour will not be accepted.
- Please keep your site clean and tidy. All rubbish must be taken with you. Kitchen waste can go in our bins provided.
- You are permitted to have one caravan/motorhome/mobile home/van or car per site and only one vehicle connected to the water and electricity per site.
- One additional vehicle not connected to power or water is permitted within each site.
- Excessive and loud noises are NOT permitted on site, please be respectful of other campers.
- Dogs are permitted but must be registered, microchipped, and are kept always restrained. Please clean up after your dog. Dogs must not be allowed to disturb other campers. Dogs left outside must not be left unattended. Council Rangers will be called to remove dogs left unrestrained and/or unattended. Dogs are not permitted in amenities blocks, near the trotting training track or the centre ring.
- Small open above ground fireplaces are permitted, except on Total Fire Ban days or when directed by Showground Management. Fires must not damage the showground. You are to supply your own firewood. The use of wood from any part of the showground is NOT permitted. Please clean up after fire use.
- Guests are permitted to visit you while staying here; however, they are not permitted to connect their vehicle to the water or electricity. They must also follow the above terms and conditions as all guests.
- Please inform the Office or Caretaker of any urgent repairs or concerns regarding the grounds and facilities.
- I understand that failure to adhere to the above terms and conditions may result in my site registration being cancelled at the discretion of the Showground Management.
- I confirm that I have read, understand, and agree to these terms and conditions of entry to the Maitland Showground.
- I agree that these terms and conditions apply to other people included in this registration and any visitors coming to visit me.
